Salah Fest 2017 launched; Police Command promises to up security this year

The 2017 edition of Salah Fest has been successfully launched in Accra yesterday 13th June, 2017 on the Chapter O street in Nima.

The annual fest and musical festival organized by EXP Ghana, an Experiential Marketing Agency with over 36 years of experience in marketing and PR, award winning Ghanaian music group, VVIP and support from Chapter O of Hearts of Oak fame over the years has bonded thousands of Muslims across Muslim communities in the capital. The organizers however are set to pull off the event for the sixth time in a row hopefully on 26th June 2017.

Security at an event remains the top most priority of every event organizer, and in beefing up security for the Salah Fest 2017, the organizers have called on the Ghana Police Service to increase their presence and provide security for patrons on the day of the event.

The Nima Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Abraham Aquaye in his speech at launch stated that the police is prepared to provided security and maintain law and order during and after the Ramadan festivity.

He also called on Chief of Nima, Imams and opinion leaders to conscientise the Muslim communities to be law abiding to help the police achieve its objective.

Chief of Nima, Nii Futah in his address threw light on the importance of Ramadan saying it is a month for Muslims across the globe to be more generous.

Country Director of EXP Ghana, Mr. Abdul Amankwa, briefing the press on activities for the day said the morning will be kick started with a prayers, followed by the fest; he revealed that the event is expected to feed about, 27,000 people. The event will be climaxed with a carnival in the evening headlined by VVIP and performances from about 25 Ghanaian “A list” artists.

He concluded by urging Muslims to go by the dictates of the religion so as to ensure a fruitful celebration.

Reggie Rockstone speaking on behave of the VVIP group noted that the carnival is about showcasing young talents in the community and putting them upfront while the big acts put the icing on the cake.
